The Chrism Mass is one of the most solemn and important annual liturgies for the diocesan church. This is the Mass during which the priests of the diocese renew their priestly promises, and Bishop Vásquez consecrates the Sacred Chrism and blesses the Oil of the Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick – which will be used at diocesan parishes for the next year.

Every year on Good Friday, parishes in the diocese take up a special collection to support the Franciscans working in the Holy Land. The collection is devoted to not only the preservation of the Holy Places of pilgrimage where Jesus lived, died, and rose again, but above all to pastoral, charitable, educational and social works for the welfare of our Christian sisters and brother there.

The Schoenstatt Movement of Austin invites you to walk with Christ and join us on our annual Good Friday pilgrimage. The 9-mile pilgrimage is held in solemn remembrance of our Lord's sacrifice for each one of us.
