A Message from Father James Misko regarding Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio's Reflection

Dear Friends in Christ, 

As we continue to witness the unfolding of the ever-complicated reality of protecting the dignity of the human person and the task of government to enact and enforce immigration laws that are effective and just in the eyes of God, our hearts continue to hurt for those in our communities experiencing anxiety and fear.  Today the president of the US Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, offered a moving pastoral message on this painful dilemma for our nation, explaining, “I want to assure all of those affected by actions which tear at the fabric of our communities of the solidarity of your pastors.  As your shepherds, your fear echoes in our hearts and we make your pain our own”.  Let us not lose sight that law must always be at the service of the human person and not the human person at the service of the law.  Read the archbishop’s complete pastoral message here.
