The Diocese of Austin strives earnestly to exercise life, charity and justice through varied ministries to support the people of God throughout central Texas. These ministries include but are not limited to, Catholic Charities of Central Texas, Pro-Life Activities, Family Life, Social Concerns and Economic Justice, Mission and Evangelization, Aging and Disabilities, Global Solidarity, Immigration and Restorative Justice. Support of the ministries mentioned above is what it means to be authentically pro-life: being concerned about the dignity of every human person from conception to natural death.

In an expression of our gratitude for their contribution to our safety and welfare, the Diocese of Austin will celebrate the Blue Mass on Monday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. honoring all active, retired, and deceased Central Texas first responders.
In an effort to look ahead at the vision of our Church, the Office of Social Justice and Multicultural Engagement, with Deacon Joseph Cannon, will be hosting a series of gatherings to discuss and gain insight as to what the most pertinent objectives and action items are for the black apostolate of the Diocese of Austin. The fruits of these gatherings will result in our new Regional Plan of Action concerning the Black Apostolate.
The Office of Hispanic Ministry assists the Bishop and/or his designate in visioning integration and administration of the ministerial needs of the Hispanic Community.
The Office of Life, Marriage and Family provides services that affirm the sacredness of life, the sanctity of marriage, the sacramentality of the family, and a Christian lifestyle, through all phases of human growth and development. The office contains all pro-life activities, marriage formation and family life.
The Office of Missions and Discipleship works to cultivate a greater understanding of our mission identity that comes from our baptism. Together we seek to establish dialogue and be of assistance to our diocesan departments, parishes, clergy, the laity and schools to promote mission awareness, stimulate mission education endeavors, cultivate mission spirituality, and nurture missionary activity.
The Restorative Justice ministry promotes Christ’s love and forgiveness through assistance, education and social interaction to the incarcerated and their families and to help those returning from prison successfully reintegrate back into society by becoming productive citizens.
The Office of Social Justice and Multicultural Engagement promotes the dignity of every person and fosters a more just, inclusive, and united Church. The office supports parish life through formation, accompaniment, and collaboration rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.
