Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ!
It has been a blessed month since my installation, and I write with a heart full of gratitude and joy as I begin my ministry as Bishop of Austin. From the moment of my appointment, I have felt your prayers, support, and warm welcome and am deeply moved by the faith and generosity of the people of this diocese. Thank you for receiving me with such kindness.
I am humbled by the responsibility entrusted to me, and I am eager to shepherd you with love, fidelity, and hope. As we journey together in faith, I pray that we may grow ever more united in the Mystical Body of Christ and that our shared witness to the Gospel will serve to carry forth his light.
I look forward to visiting parishes, schools, and campus ministries, meeting you, listening to your stories, and walking with you as, together, guided by the Holy Spirit, we continue to build up the Body of Christ.
Please keep me in your prayers, as I will keep you in mine. May our Blessed Mother and all the saints intercede for us as we begin this new chapter together.
Sincerely in Christ, Most Reverend Daniel E. Garcia
