Pastoral Message as Central Texas experiences significant rainfall

My Dear Brothers and Sisters:

As Central Texas experiences significant rainfall, we give thanks to God for the gift of rain that refreshes the earth and sustains His creation. We also lift in prayer all those who may be impacted by what is being described as the potential for unprecedented flooding, asking the Lord to protect lives and strengthen those who serve and respond.

In moments like these, we are reminded that our faith calls us to be the hands and feet of Christ, bringing hope to those who are hurting. Let us be intentional in caring for one another: our neighbors, families, coworkers, and especially those who are most vulnerable, including the elderly, the isolated, and those who may otherwise be forgotten.

A phone call, a visit, a shared meal, can become an expression of God's steadfast love. As we remain vigilant, may we also remain rooted in faith, trusting in God's presence and seeking every opportunity to be Christ to those whom we encounter.

Through the intercession of our Mother Mary, let us ask our Lord Jesus Christ to watch over our communities and guide those in harm's way.
