Our hearts remain heavy for our brothers and sisters so severely affected by the Hill Country and Central Texas floods over the 4th of July weekend. Seeing mothers and fathers desperately searching for their lost children and young people hoping to make contact with their stranded parents, we continue to ask God’s merciful presence to be near those who mourn and to strengthen those who still hope. We also continue to pray for first responders and others engaged in search and rescue operations, as well as the communities devastated by the flooding.
While our prayers are essential at this time of uncertainty, we also know that our action is needed. In union with Bishop-designate Daniel E. Garcia, I invite you to consider supporting those in need of immediate assistance by giving to Catholic Charities of San Antonio and our own Catholic Charities of Central Texas, both of which stand ready to assist those displaced and in need of immediate support during this time of distress.
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Antonio
Counties Impacted: Burnet, Caldwell, Llano, Mason, San Saba, Williamson, Travis
Invoking the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, patroness of those affected by storms and floods, that through our generosity, God will bring healing and peace to those most in need.
Prayerfully, Very Reverend James A. Misko Diocesan Administrator
