This year’s Catholic Services Appeal theme, Together, we are one, is rooted in the witness of the early Church: “The community of believers was of one heart and mind…” (Acts 4:32). United in Christ, we share responsibility for the mission entrusted to us across the Diocese of Austin.
I am profoundly grateful for the extraordinary generosity of the faithful. Last year, more than $9 million was received through the CSA. Your sacrifices strengthened the Church, cared for our neighbors in need, and made the love of Christ visible throughout Central Texas. Building on that faithful response, our goal for the 2026-2027 Catholic Services Appeal is $7.4 million.
Your gift supports the full breadth of our diocesan mission: clergy formation, including the education of seminarians and care for senior and retired priests; ministries that assist families and individuals in need; Catholic education and faith formation; pastoral ministries for youth, young adults, families, and multicultural communities; and opportunities for spiritual renewal and worship.
The CSA makes possible ministries and services that no single parish could sustain alone. Each contribution, large or small, becomes part of a shared mission of evangelization, formation, charity and hope. In the coming weeks, you will receive information about the CSA. I ask you to review these materials and prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to participate. As St. Paul reminds us, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7). May our gratitude for God’s abundant blessings inspire us to give with joyful and generous hearts.
Sincerely in Christ, Most Reverend Daniel E. Garcia Bishop of Austin
