    • Franciscan at Home

Welcome to an opportunity that could change your life. When we grow in our knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, we are not simply pursuing an academic endeavor. We are experiencing the life-giving power that comes with knowing Jesus Christ and His bride, the Church.

Certification:  We offer people, both volunteers (Catechists, Small groups leaders, Ministry leaders, etc.) and professionals (DREs, Youth Ministers, Catholic School Teachers, etc.) to receive a certification in the ministry they serve. These certifications are available on Franciscan at Home, the most robust online learning platform available. You can register online using the link below.

Tracks:  We have created customized tracks made up of workshops (courses of study) for you to pick which help to focus on specific areas of ministry. You select the Track you want to participate in and complete the workshops included in the track. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be certified in that track and receive a certificate.

Workshops: You can complete the workshops (courses of study) on your own time from the comfort of your home or in your parish or school. We firmly believe that these workshops work best when done together. For this reason, the staff at parishes should be offering facilitated workshops throughout the year. We also want to encourage you to gather others around you and offer a workshop if your parish school is not offering one at this time. Don’t let the schedule stop you from getting started. Workshop lengths vary considerably between 2-5 hours.

Equivalencies:  Many people have taken previous classes, and they will all count towards our new Tracks/Certifications. Once you’ve registered and have started your desired track, please contact us so we can apply your previous classes to this new track.

Help:  We are here to help you every step of the way. With immediate questions, please be sure to visit our website, which will have explanation pages that can answer basic questions. Please call or email the Evangelization and Catechesis team for help.

    Restorative Justice
    • Volunteers who conduct Catholic service programs in correctional facilities must convey instruction consistent with Church teaching and conform to the diocesan Code of Particular Law.  By virtue of their role in representing the Catholic Church to inmates, many if not most inmates view the information conveyed by volunteers as authentic Church teaching.
To better assure that Church teachings are being accurately conveyed, the Department of Catechesis offers courses of study through the Franciscan at Home learning platform.  This formation is for new and existing volunteers.   Workshops within a particular track can be taken in any order, but it is recommended that the course of study on Missionary Discipleship for Ministry be completed first.  You'll receive a certificate of completion for each Course of Study completed.  To get started,

      • Create your free Franciscan at Home Account
      • Select the Adult Ministry Track  | Workshops found within this track are appropriate for those seeking to work with the Restorative Justice Ministry
