Parishes: We continue to need your help in working data clean up within your parish. This includes the following:

• MP runs a duplicate finding procedure to identify potential duplicate contacts in your database. When it finds a potential duplicate, it will tag the contacts as being possibly related. You can merge these duplicates by following the guide linked below.

• “Fix Views” link to clean up data. These views identify common data quality issues and are found on the Contacts page within MP.

• Parishes are billed for MP based on active family. Assigning active status and registration status is important for an accurate snapshot of your parishioner base. 
• Tips on assigning registration status to your parishioners.
• Using Activity Log to determine Active Status

Below are diocesan data quality initiatives that are ongoing:

• NCOA interface available in the MAILERS+4 postal automation software. Melissa Data is a database of addresses recognized by the US Postal Service. Each address is properly formatted in a way consistent with a standard the postal service recognizes. All addresses in MP will be verified and updated with this automation software and the addresses will be formatted consistent with what the postal services recognizes. 

• We continue to merge duplicate family records across parishes according to their active status. During this phase, please note there will be changes to your data.
