Healthcare workers bring God’s love and care to every person they meet, seeking to heal the body and spirit. This special liturgy and evening honors our dedicated Healthcare Professionals as they continue the healing ministry of Christ.The Healthcare Mass — which was originally known as the White Mass for the white lab coats worn by many in the healthcare profession — dates back to the late 1800s and is held often near October 18, the feast day of St. Luke the Evangelist, the patron saint of physicians and surgeons.
This evening honors physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, researchers, medical assistants, receptionists, dietary staff, lab workers, chaplains, administrators and all others who work in alliance with the healthcare field. We honor their gifts, talents, and vocations as they live out their faith in their work.

Mission StatementTo uphold the Magisterial teachings of Catholic faith and morality as related to the science and practice of medicine; to lead the Christian community in the work of communicating Catholic medical ethics to the medical profession and the community-at-large; to support Catholic hospitals in the application of Catholic moral principles in medical practice; to enable Catholic healthcare workers to know one another better and to work together with deeper mutual support and understanding; and to encourage Catholic healthcare workers to grow in holiness in their personal and professional lives.
