A Day of Reflection with the Black Apostolate
Over the years, Black Catholics have set aside a day to reflect on the pastoral needs of people from throughout the African diaspora. Continuing that tradition, Catholics of all cultures are cordially invited to participate in this annual Day of Reflection with the Black Apostolate.

Date: Saturday, November 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Join the Diocese of Austin and the Black Apostolate as we reflect upon the ways we are called to Sainthood as individuals and as community. The day will include time for fellowship, talks by our Keynote Speaker, Reverend Kingsley O'haeri, and morning Mass will be celebrated by Very Reverend James Misko.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees

Our speaker

Rev. Kingsley Chisom O'haeri was born in Amuzukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, the youngest child of a devout Catholic family, his vocation was nurtured early through the example of his parents, siblings, and the seminarians his family hosted at home. Their reverence for the Eucharist and joy in serving God inspired him deeply.
Kingsley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Imo State University, Owerri, and later worked at Saint Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene, where living among priests and seminarians awakened in him a call to the priesthood. He later pursued studies in the United States, serving as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist before being accepted into priestly formation for the Diocese of Austin. He studied at St. Joseph Seminary in Louisiana and St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston, Texas.
He was recently ordained a priest of Jesus Christ on June 18, 2025, by Archbishop Joe Vásquez in the Diocese of Austin. Father Kingsley is the first Catholic priest from his family and village in Nigeria and now serves as parochial vicar at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Manor.
