Who is eligible to serve on the Discipleship CREW?

Discipleship CREW members must meet the following criteria:

• Be a practicing Catholic and active member of their local parish.
• Be a witness of your Catholic faith in your personal life as well as publicly and on social media.
• Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school.
• Have attended DCYC in-person previously as a high school student.
• Be willing and able to participate in all training as outlined below. (Please do not apply if unavailable on the dates below).
• Be willing to speak or act on stage.
• If 18 years of age by DCYC, compliance with Ethics and Integrity in Ministry is expected by December 31, 2026.

What is the time commitment for serving on Discipleship CREW?

Discipleship CREW members are required to attend all scheduled planning meetings and workshops before DCYC, as well as attend the entirety of DCYC. Discipleship CREW members will arrive in Waco for DCYC on the morning of Friday, January 29, 2027. In addition, you may be asked to work on programming components (memorization, practice, etc.) outside of these scheduled events. Attendance at these events in their entirety is mandatory, so please mark these dates on your calendar if you feel called to apply.

• Workshop #1:  November 7 | St. John Vianny Parish, Round Rock
• Workshop #2:  December 5 | location TBD
• Workshop #3: January 9, 2027 | St. Anthony Marie de Claret Parish, Kyle
  
• DCYC: Friday, January 29 (morning by 9:30 a.m.)  - Sunday, January 31, 2027 (Waco, TX)

Will I get to spend time with my parish group at DCYC?

The Discipleship CREW is an important piece of the larger DCYC Committee that plans and executes the conference each year. As a member of the Discipleship CREW, you are expected to serve and assist with behind-the-scenes and on-stage elements throughout the conference. We will have a very full and exciting schedule, so please count on spending the majority of the time at DCYC with your fellow Discipleship CREW members. However, during designated free times, you are welcome to meet up with your parish group at the convention center if they are available.

What do I need to know about accommodations and travel for DCYC?

Members of the Discipleship CREW will have their hotel accommodations covered by the DCYC Committee from Friday to Sunday. A block of rooms will be reserved for Discipleship CREW members;  your parish group will not need to make your hotel accommodations. 

Discipleship CREW members are expected to coordinate their travel to Waco on the morning of Friday, January 29, 2027.   At the conclusion of the conference, Discipleship CREW members are welcome to travel back home with their parish groups or by other means. Staff must be notified by the January 9 meeting of the crew member's Sunday travel plans. 

Do I need to register for DCYC if I'm selected to join the Discipleship CREW?

Acceptance to the 2027 Discipleship CREW ensures your registration for the conference. You will not need to register for DCYC through your parish. However, Discipleship CREW members are expected to pay the standard $95 registration fee for the conference. Registration fees will be collected at the in-person workshops before DCYC or you may also pay by credit card here.
