Scouting America annually celebrates its founding on February 8. Scout Sunday is always the Sunday preceding February 8, unless the 8th is a Sunday, in which case the 8th is Scout Sunday. The NCCS has compiled resources regarding the celebration of Scout Sunday in the parish.
Girl Scout Sunday kicks off Girl Scout Week each March and always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12. Girl Scout Sunday allows girls to be recognized as a Girl Scout at their parish. Information on planning an event for Girl Scout Sunday can be found here.
We want to celebrate your event. Please send pictures from your Parish Scout Sunday Celebration to[email protected].

It's the Year of Saint Francis! Join us at Eagle's Wings Retreat Center for the Diocesan Scouting Committee's Annual Scouting Family Retreat. The cost is $50 per family or $15 per person until July 14; the cost will increase to $60 and $25 for registrations received after July 14, and participants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Registration includes t-shirt, lunch, religious activity patches, and project supplies. The retreat is open to all Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, Troops of St. George, Camp Fire Scouts, and their family.
Come experience nature as Saint Francis did, as a reflection of the Creator. Bring your family and enjoy a day in the hill country exploring nature, competing in outdoor activities, earning religious activity patches, and more.
St. John Vianny Parish in Round Rock will host this annual Mass, where Bishop Garcia will celebrate those Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts, and American Heritage Girls who have completed a Religious Emblem Program or received scouting’s highest rank in the past year. All Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to attend.
The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting is accepting nominations for the Bronze Pelican, St. George, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and St. Anne awards for those adults who have made significant contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in their programs. The deadline for nominations is August 15; nominees will receive their award at the Scout Recognition Mass. More information and nomination forms can be found here.
