Mientras nos preparamos para celebrar la festividad del Día de Acción de Gracias, demos gracias por la presencia de nuestros seres queridos y con quienes compartimos la vida, y especialmente por el Dios de toda la creación que nos invita a su mesa y su banquete.

As we ready ourselves to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, let us give thanks for the presence of those we love and share life with and especially for the God of all creation who invites us to his table and feast.

Advent has a two-fold character for it is a time of preparation for the Solemnities of Christmas, in which the First Coming of the Son of God to humanity is remembered, and likewise a time when, by remembrance of this, minds and hearts are led to look forward to Christ's Second Coming at the end of time.
