Esta mañana fue anunciado que nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa León XIV, ha designado al Padre James Misko como el 8vo. obispo de la Diócesis de Tucson. Con gran alegría por la Iglesia y por Padre Misko, los invito a unirse a mí en felicitarlo y a orar por él mientras se embarca en esta nueva responsabilidad pastoral.
This morning it was announced that our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, has appointed Fr. James Misko as the 8th bishop of the Diocese of Tucson. With great joy for the Church and Fr. James, I invite you to join me in congratulating and praying for him as he undertakes this new pastoral responsibility.
Pope Leo XIV has appointed Reverend James A. Misko, a priest of the Diocese of Austin, as the Bishop of Tucson. Father Misko currently serves as vicar general and moderator of the curia for the Diocese of Austin.
Each week, as we light the candles on the Advent wreath, we see the flame piercing the darkness reminding us of God’s promises and the light that is coming. May this holy season open our hearts to Christ assisting us to bring the good news to God’s people.
Durante esta santa época de Adviento, mientras nos preparamos para el nacimiento de nuestro Salvador, nuestro Señor Jesucristo, lo hacemos con tristeza al enfrentar la inimaginable pérdida de vida ocurrida este fin de semana en Brown University y en un Centro Comunitario Judío en Australia. Viajemos con nuestros hermanos y hermanas compartiendo con ellos el duelo de la pérdida de 17 preciosas vidas y apoyando a aquellos que ahora enfrentan el largo camino de la recuperación de sus heridas.
During this holy season of Advent, as we prepare for the birth of our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, we do so with heavy hearts as we confront the unimaginable loss of human life that occurred this weekend at Brown University and at a Jewish Community Center in Australia. Let us journey with our brothers and sisters as together we grieve the loss of 17 precious lives and support those who now face the long path of recovery from their wounds.

On Thursday, November 20, one resident was baptized and two were confirmed into the Catholic faith.
We are grateful to Catholic Volunteer Services for sponsoring and guiding the women as they diligently completed the studies required for their confirmation.
Special thanks to our dedicated volunteers and O’Daniel staff for their continued support and encouragement of the women as they pursue spiritual growth and renewal.
