The Way is a free, 3-day guided meditation and prayer program. It is an opportunity for
healing and prayer and for survivors to reflect on God’s plan for their lives.
As the Church continues to minister to all survivors of abuse, the Archdiocese of
Washington sponsors retreats for survivors. The archdiocese will offer a women’s retreat
on Sept.18-20, 2026 and April 23-25, 2027.
Also, the archdiocese offers “The Way: Virtual Trauma Support Group.” Drawing on
trauma research and evidence-based models for healing from trauma, this group will
provide opportunities for learning new tools to address difficult emotions, internal conflict,
and cognitive distortions. This support group is for women and limited to 10 participants. It
is led by a professional counselor experienced in working with survivors of trauma and well-
formed in the Roman Catholic faith.
Dates: September 30 – Dec. 2, 2026
Wednesday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Way Men’s retreat will be held on January 8-10, 2027.
The above-noted events are free of charge. To learn more or to register: please contact
Deborah McDonald at [email protected].
