St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!

Aug. 16: St. Monica Parish in Cameron will host its annual Homecoming Festival on the parish grounds. The day begins with a Polka Mass at 10 a.m. Barbecue beef and sausage plates will be served at 10:30 a.m. for $15 a plate until sold out. There will be game booths for all ages, food booths, a live auction and live entertainment throughout the day. All are welcome!

A prayer service for expectant mothers and fathers will be offered Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. (Rosary starts at 5:30 p.m.) at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Austin (on the second floor of the parish center). Expecting a child is a blessing but also a time of uncertainty. Please join us as we pray for those who are preparing to receive the precious gift of a child. All are welcome to join us in prayer, music, and reflection. A meal will follow.

The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting meets quarterly to assess the needs of our Catholic Scouting population and to plan age-appropriate events to foster a deeper appreciation of our faith. In addition, the committee sponsors adult training for religious emblem counselor roles. If you have a topic that you think needs to be addressed or would like to attend, please contact DCCS chair, Stephen Harris.

EIM | Hosted by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services | This presentation provides basic training on recognizing and reporting abuse of children, elderly adults and adults with disabilities. Attendees will gain insight into the reporting process, common reporting concerns and prevention strategies for supporting families.

St. Joseph Parish in Bryan hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Thursday of each month following the 6 p.m. Mass. All are welcome!

Father Kevin Rai leads Marian Mornings on first Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.

St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!

St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin host a Filipino Mass on the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. Fellowship follows the Mass at the Parish Activity Center. All are invited to bring a dish to share. Come and join us and meet your kababayan!

The day begins with Mass (including Polka music) at 10 a.m. Barbecue beef, pork and sausage plates will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. The country auction begins at 1:30 p.m. Games, music and other activities will continue throughout the afternoon!

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish in Granger will host its annual Bazaar Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the parish hall at 500 W. Davilla in Granger. The day will begin with Mass at 10 a.m. followed by fun, fellowship and games for all ages throughout the day. Barbecue and sausage plates will be served for $15 per plate. The live auction will begin at 1:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with a dance ($10 per person entry fee). All are welcome!

St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main church. All are welcome!

The purpose of this presentation is to give the audience an overview of the Child Protective Investigations program. Join us to gain a better understanding of the legal definitions of abuse and neglect, reporting requirements and the investigation process for CPI.

PRAYING WITH VOICE, MIND, AND HEART DAY RETREAT:, Saturday, September 12, 9am-3:30pm (8:30 a.m. check-in & light breakfast), at Life House on the St. Thomas More Campus in Austin. The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes three main modes of prayer: vocal, meditative, and contemplative. In this retreat, Deacon Dan Lupo will explore these prayer forms with participants and help them experience their fruits using the Rosary, Lectio Divina, and Eucharistic Adoration as examples of each. Austin Vocations | Every 2nd Saturday of the month, Sr Silvia Tarafa, SCTJM, will provide a program of formation for your vocation to give you the tools to discern and live out the vocation the Lord calls you to. Open to unmarried women seeking to discover their vocation, ages 16 to 35.

Holy Trinity Parish in Corn Hill will host its annual Bazaar Sept. 20, on the parish grounds. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. A delicious meal of barbecue and fried chicken will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be live polka music during the meal, children's games, live and silent auctions and kolaches for sale. Cedarbrake Retreat | Forgiveness is at the heart of our faith, but it was never meant to leave us defenseless. Karen May will lead a retreat for those navigating painful or harmful relationships who are ready to discover that freedom can be found in faithful forgiveness and that love itself sometimes calls us to set limits. Karen is an author, speaker, spiritual director, and a parishioner at St. John Neumann in Austin. The cost for this retreat is $50.

At this Mass, Scouts from Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts, and American Heritage Girls who have earned a religious emblem or award in the previous year.  Eagle Scouts and Gold Award and Stars and Stripes awardees are invited to attend. Adult recognition awards are also awarded at this Mass.
