Aug. 16: St. Monica Parish in Cameron will host its annual Homecoming Festival on the parish grounds. The day begins with a Polka Mass at 10 a.m. Barbecue beef and sausage plates will be served at 10:30 a.m. for $15 a plate until sold out. A prayer service for expectant mothers and fathers will be offered Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. (Rosary starts at 5:30 p.m.) at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Austin (on the second floor of the parish center). Expecting a child is a blessing but also a time of uncertainty. Please join us as we pray for those who are preparing to receive the precious gift of a child. All are welcome to join us in prayer, music, and reflection. A meal will follow.
The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting meets quarterly to assess the needs of our Catholic Scouting population and to plan age-appropriate events to foster a deeper appreciation of our faith. In addition, the committee sponsors adult training for religious emblem counselor roles.
